Quagmire
Snubs Cesspool for 3rd Consecutive
Year!
Outstanding
Performance by Basin Defense
Stops Plungers
Final
Score: Quagmire Basins: 13, Cesspool
Plungers : 12
For
a third consecutive year, the Quagmire
Basins stand atop the football world
with, yet, another victory over
the Cesspool Plungers. No one player
stood out for Quagmire, except for
the awesome Basin defense, otherwise
know as "the Brown Shirts".
The
game started off in typical ToiletBowl
fashion, with lots of trash-talk
and plenty of hot-heads to go around.
It wasn't until the third drive
by Quagmire that digits got on the
scoreborard when Bill Willard connected
with Jeff Hill for a 25 yard toss
into the corner of the end-zone.
Quagmire opted for the 1point conversion
and succeeded as Mr. Monday Night,
Landon Willard and the Quagmire
line pushed through the savage Cesspool
Defense, making the score 7-0, Quagmire.
It
wasn't until the third quarter that
Cesspool represented Frayser in
fine fashion when they put their
6 on the board. David Ledord broke
through the line to catch a toss
by David Castle to end up in the
endzone 50 yards later. I know,
I couldn't believe he could run
that far either. The Plungers failed
on the 1 pt PAT making it 7-6 Quagmire.
Quagmire answered this a few plays
later as Jeff Hill catches another
pass as he waltzed into the endzone
un-scathed. The Basins lost the
handle and couldn't convert on the
2 pt PAT broken up by Jimbo Harrell.
Score 13-6 , Quagmire.
Cesspool
ended up with the ball again and
lit up the scoreboard like nickel
slot night in Frayer, making it
13-12. The game came down to a furious
finish with both teams fighting
a defensive battle all the way to
the last ticks. As the last two,
tense minutes ticked off in the
game, Quagmire had the ball, and
all they had to do was hold off
the un-yeilding Plungers. With the
last 6 seconds, Bill Willard launched
a "Hail Mary" into the
endzone, caught by Richie "Boom,
Boom" Willard. And that's how
the game ended: Quagmire 13, Cesspool
12.
